WHO:
The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) will host Vice Admiral Vivek H. Murthy, MD, MBA, the 21st Surgeon General of the United States, in a Fireside Chat with NAAG’s President, Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum.
The conversation will take place during the Association’s annual Capital Forum conference, held in Washington, D.C., from December 9-11, 2024.
WHAT:
During the Fireside Chat, AG Rosenblum will discuss her 2024 NAAG Presidential Initiative – “America’s Youth: AGs Looking Out for the Next Generation” – and how it relates to Dr. Murthy’s own actions on behalf of America’s youth, including issuing aSurgeon General’s Advisoryon the subject of youth use of social media, as well as recommending to Congress that warning labels be placed on social media apps.
The 2024 NAAG Capital Forum will provide an opportunity for state and territory attorneys general to engage with federal officials, discuss important policy issues, and learn about the latest state and federal legal developments. Topics discussed will include social media, cybersecurity, substance use, the Supreme Court, and more.
